Tell us about yourself – where do you live?
My wife Mary Beth and I and our two dogs live on Portage Lake in Pinckney after spending twenty years living in Ann Arbor. Mary Beth is a recently retired nurse who now volunteers for Leader Dogs for the Blind.
What are your hobbies? Fun facts about you?
My hobbies are backpacking, live music, travel, mountain biking, golf and MLB. My wife and I typically see 20-30 live music performances annually. I’m also an Ark volunteer and member.
Where do you work?
I work in Ann Arbor at MAVD, a real estate investment, development and advisory firm with offices in Ann Arbor and Broomfield, Colorado.
How did you first learn about Avalon?
My first experience with was working with Michael Appel (Avalon’s Senior Developer/HUD Specialist) on some footing drain disconnects on Avalon’s Stimson property about twenty years ago!
What led you to join the board at Avalon?
I’ve always admired the work done by Avalon and their reputation around town. After serving on Avalon’s REDS committee for two years, I’ve been very impressed by the staff I’ve met. It was an easy decision to accept when asked.
What are you most excited about and looking forward to as a new board member?
I’m excited to learn more about the staff and residents that make Avalon the success that it is!
