Our Homes
We Build Homes That Last
Avalon Housing works to solve homelessness in systemic, sustainable ways. Our holistic approach includes building affordable housing from the ground up, working with local landlords, and collaborating with municipal and nonprofit partners.
From the Ground Up
While more real estate developers work affordable housing into their plans, only Avalon Housing develops properties designed to help eradicate homelessness.
We create homes that communities can be proud of, from their intentional design to their quality construction. Our developments represent more opportunities for our extremely low-income neighbors to find homes they can afford. Most importantly, we create homes where tenants can live in dignity and build futures.
Our homes include details like:
- Laundry rooms
- Beautiful shared community spaces
- Native plant gardens
- Murals by local artists
Powerful Partnerships
Private Landlords
We work with local landlords who provide homes for our clients with housing vouchers. We offer support and care to these clients living in the private rental market.
Public Partners
From managing properties and providing services to creating new housing, we’re proud of our municipal partnerships. Some of our key partners include our peers in the Washtenaw Housing Alliance and municipalities like the cities of Ann Arbor, Chelsea, Dexter and Ypsilanti.
Innovators
Through collaborations with visionary partners, we are expanding affordable housing in new ways. We work with initiatives and organizations that prioritize climate-resilient construction, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
